Friends, this June I will be participating in my 14th Ride for Roswell, and hopefully 13th year as an "Extra Mile Club" fundraiser! My goal this year is to raise $2500.00 to support patient care and cancer research at Roswell. My generous and supportive friends have helped me surpass previous fundraising goals in the past, and I am so grateful to every one of them!
Many of you know that I started this journey and became so committed to this cause to honor and remember my friend Kelly's brother who was treated at Roswell. Kelly and her family lost their beloved Eric to cancer. You have probably felt this way, maybe a number of times- you wanted to do something, but there was nothing you could do. Raising money to help fund patient care and research was something that I could do. And I will always ride with Eric's name on my jersey. I have lost family to cancer as well, and ride in honor and memory of my Mom, my grandpa "Popoo," Uncle Alfred, Uncle Sebastian, and Uncle Grover, as well as my dear college friend Nancy who I wish was here to do the Ride with me. And another dear college friend, Lori, lost her husband Sid who was the beloved father of their beautiful daughter Molly. Sid was treated at Roswell for many years.
And I also ride to honor my friends and family who have beaten cancer or who are currently undergoing treatment.
With one in two men and one in three women in America being diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, most of us know someone who has been affected by this devastating disease. You CAN do something and you CAN make a difference by supporting me in The Ride For Roswell. Together, we can help find cancer cures and save lives.
Please consider donating. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
