No, I didn’t just rush a fraternity.
Late last year my regularly scheduled brain MRI revealed a “secondary malignant melanoma of brain” as a “small recurrence along the previous treatment site (2016) for metastatic brain lesion.” The doctors at Roswell recommended “gamma knife radiosurgery using a thermoplastic mask for immobilization (the photo).”
This was done on January 16, 2024 in one treatment. Since then I have been feeling fine but post this to show the state of the art medicine that we are blessed to have in our own back yard.
For those who don’t remember or are new to my fundraising efforts, eight years ago I was diagnosed with a metastatic brain tumor that had already hemorrhaged. After surgery the prognosis was I had about 8 months to live.
I have so much to be grateful for – my wife, my family, my health and as always, my friends and colleagues. Through it all it’s been the dedicated and caring people at Roswell – from the researchers to the surgeons, orderlies and technicians to the doctors, nurses and physician assistants who have helped get through these challenges.
I am again riding with team "Kids Just Want To Have Fun" which promises to match 50% of my pledges. For those of you who have contributed in the past and those who may be supporting me for the first time, there is no better time than now to do it by making this Ride the biggest and best fundraiser in Roswell history and helping me celebrate another milestone in the fight against cancer.
Now it’s on to this year’s Ride on June 22, 2024. Remember no donation is too big or too small so please take a moment to give what you can!
Thank you for your support. Stay safe and be well.
