Twenty-one years ago, I participated in my first Ride for Roswell. Six years ago I was diagnosed with a metastatic brain tumor that had already hemorrhaged. After surgery the prognosis was I had about 8 months to live. Thanks to the amazing folks at Roswell and the grace of G-d, I am well past that expiration date. Prostate cancer was one of my first bouts with this tenacious disease, but it is again being treated and seems to be behaving.
I have so much to be grateful for – my wife, my family, my health and as always, my friends and colleagues. And as you can see from the photos was blessed to celebrate my 70th birthday with my beautiful family last October! Through it all it’s been the dedicated and caring people at Roswell – from the researchers to the surgeons, orderlies and technicians to the doctors, nurses and physician assistants who have helped get me to where I am today.
As for my Ride donation requests – I am extremely grateful to all of you who have given so generously over the years. Through your outpouring of generosity, I raised almost $16,000 last year and was again in the top 15 fundraisers from over 6,173 riders who together raised $5.6M! Because of you I have raised over $175,000 in 21 years of Riding for Roswell.
I am again riding with team "Kids Just Want To Have Fun" which promises to match 50% of my pledges. For those of you who have contributed in the past and those who may be supporting me for the first time, there is no better time than now to do it by making this Ride the biggest and best fundraiser in Roswell history and helping me celebrate another milestone in the fight against cancer.
Now it’s on to this year’s Ride on June 24, 2023. Remember no donation is too big or too small so please take a moment to give what you can!
Thank you for your support. Stay safe and be well.
