Riding across New York State isn’t for the faint of heart. It takes courage and a commitment to something greater than oneself.
For the 3rd year I’ve committed to cycling more than 500 miles from NYC to Niagara Falls for one reason: to raise funds to end cancer. In this crazy - non-science oriented climate we live in - the funding for this type of research will increasingly be the responsibility of regular folks such as ourselves.
Funds raised through Empire State Ride have already funded innovative cancer research at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center - including a vaccine for Glioblastoma and foundational research for Car-T-Cell personalized therapies. In addition, every dollar raised has yielded an additional $23 in external funding - the highest multiple of any research facility in the US.
