In November 2023, while 35 weeks pregnant, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Breast Cancer with Lymph Node involvement.
I am ER/PR + HER2 - and BRCA2 positive. What does this mean?! I have a genetic gene mutation that increases my chances for breast and ovarian cancer by 70%.
I am currently in active treatment and undergoing 8 rounds of chemotherapy, followed by a double mastectomy, ovary removal to reduce my risk of reoccurrence elsewhere, daily radiation, and 15 years of hormonal blockers and oral chemotherapy. I have a goal to reach remission by the fall of 2024 and raise awareness for Breast Cancer, while advocating for earlier screening and testing!
The Ride for Roswell is so important to the Western New York community. We all care about making a difference in the future of cancer research and bringing an end to this devastating disease. That is why I am riding in the 2024 Ride for Roswell on June 22.
I need your help to raise critically needed funds to support the thousands of patients that turn to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center each year.
Please donate to my Ride for Roswell fundraiser. For every dollar donated to cancer research, Roswell Park is now able to leverage an additional $23 from external grants towards that research.
Together – we can end cancer!
