Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page for #RFR24!
As many of you know, Roswell has been invaluable to our family as we fought Multiple Myeloma with my dad. We are riding as a team for him, as well as in memory of my Grandma and Grandpa who were also Roswell patients. We have seen first-hand what this fundraiser means to so many people who, like us, are fighting for their lives.
My dad, Tom Nicholas was diagnosed in February 2021 with Multiple Myeloma. Multiple Myeloma is a blood cancer; those mutated cells take over in the bone marrow, and there’s no room for healthy blood cells. It was a long, terrifying, and bumpy road since then - immunotherapy, a failed stem cell transplant, a bacterial infection, a respiratory infection, inpatient chemo therapy, constant labs, tests, blood transfusions, and so many visits to Roswell we lost count.
In February 2022, we learned that my dad had stopped responding to all treatments. Our focus then became prolonging his life through transfusions and making the most of every precious day with our family. On April 29, 2022, my dad passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. He was truly larger than life, and every single person who knew him is better for it. We are simply lost without him.
If there is anything we've learned over his 14-month battle, it's that we could not have done it without the love, support and strength of our family and friends.
Please consider a donation or joining the team with us! NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE!
