I know my life was forever changed after my son Luke was diagnosed with Acute Lympoblastic Leukemia in 2013. Never in a millon years did I ever think I would be identified as a cancer parent. We have been the lucky ones with Luke remaining in remission, however it is an ongoing worry as a parent if it will return. Longterm side effects are no joke either .. they are a daily reminder of the cancer. Our kids will live their entire lives with them. It becomes their normal.
Roswell Park Cancer Institute saved his life and there is not enough that I can do to repay this amazing hospital that has done so much for Luke and my entire family. We have developed another family in Roswell. Although we are fortunate to be surrounded by amazing people I would trade it in a heart beat if someday a cure for Cancer is found.
Once again I am riding the 100 mile route for the RFR . As themiles go by I pray and think about all those currently fighting and those who we have lost to this horrific disease. I will pray for the doctors and nurses who are caring for our family and friends.
Call me crazy but when this journey began I knew the only way I would ever be able to repay the hospital that has saved my sons life was to fundraise so other families have the benefit of the amazing research, treatment and care that they have provided to our family.
You can make a difference by supporting me in The Ride For Roswell. Funds raised support cutting-edge research and compassionate, innovative patient care programs at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Team Luke has reached a milestone this year in raising over $140,000 over the past 6 years of riding. Please consider helping me continue this mission by making a donation today. Together, we can help find cancer cures and save lives. Thank you for always supporting me!
