The Donor Center Rides for Leslie

Our honoree this year is Leslie Shuman Kramer who sadly died at the age of 60 this past February after a 9-month battle with cancer. Born in Buffalo, Leslie was a vivacious and passionate person, putting her heart and soul into all her endeavors and interests.  She had a spark and sparkle, and was a cherished leader throughout Western New York, and in the Jewish community.

Leslie was also a proud supporter of Roswell Park and rode for years in both the Ride and the Peloton.  During her treatment. Leslie received countless blood and platelet transfusions and her family is grateful for the generosity and kindness of volunteer donors who made that possible. At the 2021 Peloton, just months after her diagnosis, Leslie was bestowed the honor of lighting the ceremonial bicycle lantern which carried the flame from Roswell Park to UB-a symbol of hope and strength.

At the time of her death, Leslie lived in Amherst with her husband, Jim. A mother of three, she received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and her law degree from the University at Buffalo.

The Donor Center and the Donor Center ride team are proud and humbled to ride in honor of Leslie Kramer. Please join us in supporting the 2022 Ride for Roswell.
