Cancer sucks. We all have friends and loved ones who have battled this heinous disease. Some have battled and won. Others have fought valiantly and lost. Some are still fighting. I am challenging myself again this year by joining the Empire State Ride - a 540 mile adventure from Staten Island to Niagra Falls. I am riding in honor of two fantastic warriors who are still fighting the good fight. My aunt, Tina Barone, who many of you know has been a second mother to my brother, sister and I. She battled before and won. Now she is fighting the battle again. She is one of the strongest and most loving people I know. She inspires me. I am blessed to have her in my life. The second is Curt Field. A veteran. An educator. A masonic brother. A loving husband, father and grandfather. When we riders are climbing the hills, pushing along the ribbons of roadway, feeling the pain in our legs and burning in our lungs - I will think of them and what it means to have true pain. Please support me in this endeavor. Help raise the funds that go to the ongoing need for research to beat this disease that has effected all of us. Be as generous as you can. Thank you.
