Cancer sucks. We all have loved ones who have battled this heinous disease. Some have won. Some have lost. Some are still fighting their battle. Last year I joined the 540+ mile Empire State Ride from Staten Island to Niagra Falls as a personal challenge and to help raise money for the many significant cancer research projects at the Roswell Park Research Center. This year I am riding again, unfortunately it is more personal this time. There is a wonderful, loving and caring woman in my life - many of you know her - Aunt Tina. She has always been there as a pillar for our family and given so much of herself to so many. She is a cancer survivor. Now she is battling for her life again. Cancer is a disease that never quits. My Aunt Tina never quits and when I ride this summer, I will not quit. When the road stretches for miles; when the hills seem to go up forever; when your legs are burning and your lungs are screaming you keep riding because you are lucky to have that opportunity and you do it for those who are fighting a real battle A battle for life or death. We can make a difference in that battle.
Join me in support of this great cause. Please donate as generously as your ability permits. Last year my family, friends and colleagues contributed over $16,000 as part of the $660,000 raised by the Empire State Ride. That was awesome, but we can do better. Take a stand with me. Help fight the battle that others do not have a choice in. Thank you.
