May 4, time for another update: Joe Curatolo just donated $ 1,500 for my ride. I am so glad I joined his team: Kids just want to have fun! Check out their team page, please. Once again I passed my goal, time to raise the bar again. Let's go for a true daily double and let's double last year's total. Let's go for $6,264!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Time for a little update. It is April 14 and Judy Z. just made my day. I reached my initial goal of $3,500, 69 days before the Ride. Fundraising does not end here, it is time to up raise the bar. Let's go for $4,500!
Nothing is more true than last year’s t-shirt: “Riding together to end cancer”. That is exactly what we are doing again this year. So many people are somehow affected by cancer. Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center plays an important role in the research to finding cures for cancers. They are once again ranked in the top 3% of cancer centers in the USA.
This year I choose to ride the international route: To the Niagara Falls in Canada and back to Buffalo. That’s a 44 mile ride, partly along the Niagara River with, of course, a stop at the Falls. I am already looking forward to it.
Last year’s fundraising went very well, I raised over $ 3,100!!!! I set my new goal a bit higher and I am now aiming for $ 3,500. Will you help me to get there? That would be great; your donations are highly appreciated.
Last year was also my first ride with the Peloton, the day before the Ride itself. A very emotional 12-mile ride from Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center to the University at Buffalo north campus. It starts with a salute to all the patients currently in Roswell Park, passes Buffalo landmarks like Delaware Park and the Darwin Martin house and finishes at the Celebration of Hope at UB.
Please help me to raise money for Roswell Park.
I am riding in memory of friends I have lost to cancer: Archie Glick, Myrna de Graaff, Sjaak Arts and Donna Frydrychowski.
I am also riding for Shelly Reisdorf, Hanneke Nicolaes, Ineke Muijtjens and Miranda Engels. My thoughts are with them while they are fighting to beat cancer.
Their names will be on my bike on riding day! If you want me to remember or support a relative, friend you lost to cancer or who is fighting it, please let me know. His or her's name will ride with me on June 21st in the Peloton and on June 22nd for the Ride. #RFR19
Can I count on your support? Thanks
