This is about to get real! I am willing to bet the hair on my head that you have battled cancer and survived, know someone, or know of someone, who is battling cancer now, or, know someone, or know of someone, who unfortunately lost their fight against this disease. I don't know about you, but I am sick and tired of this damn disease impacting the lives of friends and family or taking loved ones away from me. I am doing what I can to fight this disease and hopefully find a cure and I am asking you to join me in this fight. This is our opportunity to change the state of cancer research for good. Together, we can fuel groundbreaking discoveries, find cancer cures and save lives.
I am back for my second tour of the great state of New York! I participated in the 2017 Empire State Ride and experienced a life changing event that inspired me to come back for a second time. I did the 2017 ESR to honor the legacy of both my father Bill, who died of cancer 35 years ago, and my mother-in-law Judy, who passed away from cancer just 3 short years ago. Well, 2018 turned out to be a very sad year as I lost my step-father Doc, my wonderful Aunt Kaye, and my loving mother Barb. In addition to them, there were several co-workers who lost their battle with this damn disease. So not only am I honoring the legacy of my family members who were impacted by this disease, but all of my friends and co-workers legacy as well. This disease has hit so close to home so many times that I want to do whatever I can to keep others from having to go through this terrible ordeal.
Please consider making a donation to my efforts today. I've set my fundraising goal at $18,000, which is just over $500 more than I raised in 2017. If you help me reach that goal, I will shave my head in honor of all of those suffering through cancer treatments. No donation is too small, and every dollar adds up to something greater than any one of us could accomplish alone. Let’s make a difference together.
