Recently, one of my close friends was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is the most positive, courageous and sincere friend, training partner and role model with a heart for helping others. She has always been there for me, encouraging and supporting me in training for my Black Belt, preparing for my first half marathon, applying to college, and navigating other opportunities and challenges that have come my way. If anyone can beat the mountains she is facing, while paving the way to help others do the same, its her. And after all that she has done for me, I wanted to think of something I could do now to support her.
So here’s my plan: For every $100 dollars I raise, I will run one mile. My goal is to run at least a half marathon, equaling roughly $1,300 in donations. My run will take place in March 2018. All proceeds will be given to the Roswell Park Cancer Institute for Breast Cancer Research. I will be documenting updates about my fundraising and training progress on my personal Facebook and Instagram accounts as well as on my Team Roswell fundraising page (*insert link). I will also share a map of the total miles I ran, come March.
To pull this off, I need your help! Please consider a gift to help me with my campaign #RunMoreMiles. Any contribution makes a big difference. Thank you in advance for your consideration and support!
