Guess what? Avery Rabago (age 17) and her Grandpa Karl (age 60) are going to ride in the Empire State Ride this year - on a tandem bicycle!
We need your help!
The Empire State Ride is 546 miles and 7 days of riding from New York City to Niagara Falls.
Donations support riders and more importantly, outstanding research at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute - a leading institution in the battle against cancer.
Cancer has had an impact in our lives—affecting Eric, Patty, Dick, and many more people we know and love.
By joining the ride, we join the fight against cancer. Please join us!
If you know Karl, you know that he loves riding a bicycle, especially when it is for a great cause. And since he first got to ride on his tandem bicycle with his granddaughter, Avery, back in Austin, he has dreamed of doing something special with her on a bike!
Avery starts her senior year in high school next year - so this is a fantastic opportunity to team up for the cause, and help her Grandpa out with some of the pedaling!
We have taken on this challenge because it is so important. It will be hard - there are some fierce hills and long days (up to 95 miles one day!).
We will train hard.
In order to ride, we have to raise $7,000. That is where you come in.
Please consider making a tax deductible donation to the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation. We have provided a link, and the process is easy.
Please know that any and all support is deeply appreciated - by us, and by the people helped by Roswell Park.
