Thank you for visiting my Carly’s Crossing fundraising page! I am excited to take on this important challenge. Every day, 43 kids are diagnosed with cancer. More than 40,000 children are in cancer treatment each year. Help me make a splash for childhood cancer cures!
The money I raise will support pediatric cancer and blood disease research through the Courage of Carly Fund at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center to help better understand the causes of these childhood diseases and to discover new methods of prevention and treatment.
Additionally, your donation to my fundraising efforts will bring smiles to hundreds of children by supporting year-round Courage of Carly social support programs that help meet the emotional and social needs of Roswell Park’s youngest patients and their families.
Please consider making a donation today. Together, we can help give every child a fighting chance.

Preparing for the Journey
So my journey started a long time ago in a swimming pool in my backyard at 4 Carroll place, Troy NY. My childhood home, my grandma would come to the house and hand me a clipboard when school let out for the year and tell me to go door to door and knock on the doors and sign the neighborhood kids up for swimming.
Wow! Times have really changed. Well, I did and many of them would come and get an American Red Cross Card from my grandma for their efforts in the pool at my house.
I developed such a LOVE for swimming because of it. Fast forward to this year. I was going through some incredibly difficult adjustments in my life. I was not handling them well. My blood pressure spiked and I knew that I could work on the exercise and health component part of my heart.
I thought what can I do to challenge myself??? I asked on facebook if anyone knew of a "5k"swim and one of my former students told me of the Carly's crossings swim. I immediately started training at my local YMCA. WOW, we really get out of shape fast as we age.
I am proud to say that I am swimming for so many reasons but I am grateful the swim comes with a cause. My dear friend and Mary Kay customer Anne has a great niece that I have been praying for with childhood cancer. Hannah Grace.
My grandma gave me my faith and she gave me my life skill of swimming and so for this year, my effort is for Helen and Hannah. Consider joining me in this effort to work on cancer and the hope of knowing that "You are never too old to be used for a purpose bigger than yourself"
