Roswell Park Day of Giving 2019

Skin Cancer

Welcome to our team page for Roswell Park’s first-ever Day of Giving. We’re excited for this 24-hour give-a-thon!

Why?

Because our Day of Giving is an opportunity for you to direct your donation to research areas that mean the most to you, and by giving to skin cancer research, you can make a huge impact for patients facing this disease.

There are over 5.5 million cases of skin cancer diagnosed each year in the U.S., more than all other cancers combined. Basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma are the most common skin cancers. Anyone is at risk for developing skin cancer regardless of their skin color. While skin cancers are very common, most cases can be cured with early diagnosis and treatment. Nevertheless, skin cancer often involves cosmetically sensitive areas, leading to disfigurement. Further, some skin cancers are very aggressive and can lead to significant suffering and even death.

Here at Roswell Park, donations allow us to pursue and advance research, bring the latest treatment options to our patients and help them maintain the best possible quality of life. Our team is committed to preventing skin cancer, increasing survival, and developing new treatments, providing access to new therapies through clinical trials, and offering supportive services for our patients throughout their cancer journey.

But we need your help! Please consider making a donation today as part of our Day of Giving. The support of generous donors like you allows us to stay on the cutting edge of skin cancer research under the leadership of Dr. Oscar Colegio and to provide compassionate care to all our patients.

On behalf of the patients and families we serve, thank you for making a difference.
