Roswell Park Day of Giving 2019

Brain Cancer

Welcome to our team page for Roswell Park’s first-ever Day of Giving. We’re excited for these 24 hours of generosity!

Why?

Because our Day of Giving is an opportunity for you to direct your donation to research areas that mean the most to you, and by giving to brain cancer research and treatment, you can make a huge impact for patients facing this disease.

Even though brain tumors are relatively rare, they can affect anyone at any age, and there’s been limited treatment advances over the last two decades. Here at Roswell Park, donations allow us to pursue and advance research, bring the latest treatment options to our patients and help them maintain the best possible quality of life.

A number of brain cancer patients at several cancer centers have already benefitted from clinical trials of an immunotherapy for brain cancer that was developed here at Roswell Park. After surgery, the SurVaxM brain cancer vaccine targets and eliminates a protein found in many brain tumors that cancer cells rely on to survive. We see great promise in this treatment for brain and other cancers and tirelessly working to make it accessible to more patients as quickly as possible.

But we need your help! Please consider making a donation today as part of our Day of Giving. The support of generous donors like you allows us to stay on the cutting edge of brain cancer research and provide compassionate care to all our patients. Your donation will be used to launch a randomized phase 2 Clinical Trial of SurVaxM for glioblastoma patients at multiple cancer centers across the US. Many patients are already on a wait list in anticipation of this promising treatment option.

On behalf of the patients and families we serve, thank you for making a difference.
