As many of you know, I lost my Mom, Sylvia Grimaldi, to Breast/Terminal Cancer. Also, my Dad, Mark Grimaldi Sr., is in remission following a courageous battle with Prostate Cancer. He's had a Prostatectomy, 37 radiation treatments, and 15 months of androgen deprivation therapy.
In honor of my Mom and Dad's fight, I’m Goin’ Bald for Bucks on February 18th for the seventh straight year to help in the fight against Cancer!
But this year I have a special surprise...my Father, the courageous survivor I've detailed above, will be shaving his head with me!
Now for those of you who know my Dad, you know that he's had a shaved head for over 20 years after he went bald.
But something pretty wild happened during and after my Dad's 15 months of androgen deprivation therapy. His hair started growing back on top of his head for the first time in decades, no joke! The doctors at Roswell believe it is because of a rare (yet awesome!) side effect of his treatment.
Dad and me will both be fundraising under this single profile. So when you donate this year, please consider making a donation for each of us. We would greatly appreciate it!
We are shaving our heads to raise critically needed funds for cutting-edge cancer research and compassionate, innovative patient-care programs at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Cancer is a disease that touches everyone, and we want to make a difference. You can help us make a difference by supporting our efforts in 'Goin’ Bald for Bucks.'
The money that we raise will help researchers and physicians better understand the causes of cancer and discover new methods of prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
One out of three Americans will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Most of us know someone that has successfully battled cancer. Many also know someone who has had their life taken by it.
No donation is too small, and every dollar adds up to something greater than any one of us could accomplish alone. Please click on the green 'Donate Now' button on our donation page.
Together, we can help find cancer cures and save lives. Please help us in this fight by clicking on the green "Donate Now" button on our donation page. Thank you!
