Why did I go bald? I’ll tell you why.

I lost both of my parents to cancer. My mom when I was a junior in college (same age as Justina is now) and my dad when my kids were both very young. I have friends and co-workers who have suffered with the disease, but luckily are all survivors. However I know that in my lifetime to come there may be more that have to suffer with the cancer prognosis.
I am going bald in honor of all of those that have suffered and fought the hard fight, but also because of what I have learned since working at the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation. I have not only learned the importance of the Foundation and all the money we raise year-after-year (almost $20 million last year), but the amazing work that the doctors, researchers, nurses and all of the staff do for our patients and survivors at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The money we raise is so important to all of their work; whether it is bringing in therapy dogs to help bring smiles to the patients experiencing the worst time of their life; to funding the latest research projects, such as vaccines for lung or brain cancer patients. The money raised is critical to helping all the patients at Roswell, and beyond.
I am honored to work here and be a small part of the Roswell team. Going bald is my way to help – to raise awareness and to raise money.
If you would like more information on where our money goes please check out this page - http://buffalo.baldforbucks.org/about/where-the-funds-go/
In addition, I would be remiss if I did not mention that we are a 4 star Charity Navigator Foundation – basically assuring you that your donation does not go to waste.
Lastly, please come and watch me go bald. It will be a party!!!
